Skagit Valley Baseball: Mount Vernon Bulldogs Ready for 2025 Season
Mar 1, 2025

The Mount Vernon High School Bulldogs are poised to build on a successful 2024 season that saw them claim league and regional championships, as well as a state runner-up finish. With a strong core of returners, the Bulldogs are set to make another run at a title in 2025.
“All of these players had key roles and started on last season’s 2024 (league champion) (regional champion) and State runner-up 2nd place team,” said Head Coach Anthony Wolden.
The Bulldog’s baseball team is also assisted by Shane Servoss of Servoss Real Estate. Servoss brings his experience as both a player and coach at Skagit Valley College to the diamond with MVHS and is excited for the season!
“This team obviously has a ton of talent. I can already tell it’s a hungry group of guys with unfinished business. I look forward to helping this team compete for a State Championship,” said Servoss.
Key Returners
- Xavier Neyens (Senior): The 2024 Washington State Gatorade Player of the Year and Northwest Conference Player of the Year, Neyens is a standout infielder and a crucial leader for the Bulldogs.
- Dylan Jacobs (Senior): A key outfielder and offensive contributor, Jacobs brings speed and power to the team.
- Brody Olmsted (Senior): A Northwest Conference 1st Team Pitcher, Olmsted’s composure on the mound will be critical for Mount Vernon.
- Baird Brewer (Junior): A 1st Team Infield selection, Brewer adds depth to the infield with his defensive skills and offensive potential.
Additional Key Players
The Bulldogs also benefit from a talented group of returning players, including:
- Moi Lucatero (Senior Outfielder)
- Kaiden Anderson (Junior Catcher)
- Brady Collins (Junior Centerfielder/Pitcher)
- Bode Webb (Junior Infielder)
- Reece Roberts (Sophomore Infielder)
These players, along with a talented new roster, will continue Mount Vernon’s tradition of excellence.
Program Structure and Goals
In 2025, Mount Vernon will field Varsity, JV, and C teams with 34-38 players, allowing for player development across all levels. The Bulldogs have three main goals for the season:
- Maximum Energy and Excitement: Maintaining positive energy on and off the field.
- Team Unity: Playing for one another and fostering a supportive environment.
- Attention to Detail: Focusing on the small things that make a big difference.
Looking Ahead
With a strong group of returners, a commitment to their goals, and a well-structured program, the Bulldogs are primed for success. Skagit Valley baseball fans can expect another exciting season as Mount Vernon strives to continue its legacy of excellence.
