5th Annual Nate Steffens Memorial Tournament Set for June 19–22
The 5th annual Nate Steffens Memorial Tournament is set for June 19–22, bringing one of the most exciting Skagit Valley baseball tournaments back to two premier venues: Dream Field in Mount Vernon and Sherman Anderson Field. This 18U baseball Skagit Valley event will host 12 elite teams for a weekend of competition, community, and remembrance.
Honoring a Legacy in Skagit Valley College Baseball
Organized by Shane Servoss, the tournament was created to honor Nate Steffens, a former Skagit Valley College baseball player who courageously fought cancer during his time at SVC. Nate left a lasting impression on teammates, coaches, and the entire community.
“I started this tournament for a former Skagit Valley College baseball player, Nate Steffens, who battled cancer throughout his time at Skagit. We lost a good baseball player and an even better person that year. I wanted to start something to honor him and his family,” said Servoss.
Skagit Valley Youth Baseball Comes Together
Now in its fifth year, the tournament has become a staple of the Skagit Valley summer baseball calendar and a highlight among Skagit Valley sports events. The event showcases talent from across the Pacific Northwest and supports the development of Washington state youth baseball.
